Commentary

First of three OO>He's Gone>OO They said they were going to play "a long time"; concert starts at 2PM and goes to 7PM; police cordoned off area so no gate crashers or tear gas (New Haven), no dogs. Also they announced that Pig Pen was "real sick." Good review from the newspaper here: http://www.gratefulseconds.com/2017/03/pretty-uneventful-month-except-for.html. There are actually 3 sets to this concert, great primary commentary on Archive. Oh, and one more memory: "there was considerable buzz among the crowd that members of the Allman Brothers were hanging around and getting ready to jump the stage. That was all pretty far out." I think they play at the end for sure. "Hey Bo Diddly" has another guitarist on there.. Dickey and Jerry Garcia on stage with the Grateful Dead. On one of the hottest days of the summer of '72, Dickey, Berry Oakley and Jaimoe joined the Dead for Not Fade Away, Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad, Hey Bo Diddley and a grand Johnny B. Goode finale. The next night, members of the Grateful Dead returned the favor when Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir and Bill Kreutzmann joined the Allman Brothers for an unforgettable Mountain Jam at Gaelic Park in The Bronx. Dickey and Jerry had great admiration for each other.
